A Conversation About Investments and Getting Out of Debt

It’s important to figure out first of all, what belongs in your budget.

Check out my interview with Amanda of The Independence Money Show for some great information on investments and getting out of debt.

As a Financial Coach, people often wonder what it exactly is that I do. While I am not an investor or a banker, I utilize my background in social work to help my clients address their behaviors around money and spending. One of the main areas of opportunity for most people is that dreaded B-word: budget.

People hate to hear that word, but I like reminding my clientele that all that word really means is the difference between telling your money where to go or wondering where it went. Being intentional with your money is key, and I can help you get into the right financial practices toward a spending plan that works for you.

It’s important to figure out first of all, what belongs in your budget. Budgeting is a lifetime activity that never ends, and will always need adjustments: so it’s not a one-size-fits-all type of thing. Inflation and cost of living has gone up exponentially since the pandemic, and there are a lot of other “bad debts” people are racking up in the process (credit cards, student loans, etc).

This can cause a lot of issues not only personally but can lead to bigger problems in marriages and families. So it’s especially important to really be proactive and communicative when financial planning, no matter how much money you might be making. Honesty and accountability are the keys to getting out of debt and getting your money to work for you.

If much of this is ringing true for you, I’d love to speak further about investments & getting out of debt as your Loveland Financial Coach.
