When you think about financial security, what comes to mind? A certain income? A paid-off house? A well-stocked savings account?
In this conversation with the Mind Power Meets Mystic podcast, we explored something deeper:
What does it take to feel secure with your money—not just on paper, but in your body, your mind, and your relationships?
From emotional money wounds to generational stories and the behaviors that either build or sabotage peace, this was one of the most heartfelt and personal conversations I’ve had around money.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, ashamed, or disconnected from your finances, I hope this episode will remind you: You’re not behind. You’re not broken. And you can start exactly where you are.
Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:
1. Money is Emotional—and That’s Okay
We carry so many beliefs about money that started before we even realized it.
Messages from childhood, trauma, culture, and family history can create unconscious blocks and limiting beliefs, like:
- “I’m just bad with money.”
- “I’ll never get ahead.”
- “It’s wrong to want more.”
But those stories aren’t your truth. And when we pause to look at them, we can begin to rewrite them.
💬 “You’re not behind. You’ve just never been taught how to do money in a way that actually works for your life.”
2. You Don’t Have to Be Perfect—You Just Need a Plan
When I first sat down to help a friend with her finances, I thought I had it all together. Turns out, we had nearly the same amount of debt.
What mattered wasn’t how much we owed—it was what we decided to do next.
We made a plan. We stuck with it. And over time, it changed everything.
💬 “We paid off $30,000 of debt, paid off our mortgage, and put two kids through college without loans—all on a social worker and respiratory therapist’s income.”
Your income matters. But what you do with your money matters even more.
3. Financial Peace Is Deeply Personal
Some people are savers. Others are spenders. Some fear being broke; others fear missing out.
It’s not about being “good” or “bad” with money—it’s about building awareness, trust, and consistency that fits your life.
I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and small business owners from all walks of life. And here’s what I know for sure:
- Budgets don’t have to be restrictive.
- Couples can get on the same page—even if they see money differently.
- Mindset shifts often matter just as much as math.
💬 “A budget isn’t punishment. It’s a plan for using your money in a way that aligns with your values.”
This is the kind of work I love.
Helping people feel more confident.
Creating space for honest, shame-free conversations.
Encouraging small steps that lead to big change.
If you’re ready to change your relationship with money, this episode is a great place to start.
