The Importance of Being Financially Prepared

by | Jan 13, 2021

I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Sabrina Clark of Design Your Family’s Legacy. During this segment, I gave a little bit of my own backstory and talked about what got me to start taking a closer look at my own finances.

We talked further about the need to be financially prepared, and how the proper preparation can really help to provide for your family’s future

Financial planning is less about math, and more about developing healthy behaviors, including your attitude about money, and your ability to really hold yourself accountable.

Your income is your primary tool for building wealth, so making sure that you know what you’re spending that money on is crucial. Thinking ahead, and really planning for the “what if’s” is so important in creating a budget that you can stick to.

This year is a shining example of why financial preparedness is such a necessity.

We were all taken off guard by the pandemic, and unfortunately, so many people around the world learned the hard way that they were ill-prepared.

However, this time in history has become a teachable moment for us all, in order to better prepare for all the curveballs life can throw our way. Setting aside a little bit of money every month can make all of the difference in the world when we find ourselves in crisis mode and can allow us to function with greater peace of mind in our day-to-day world.

For those of us who are married or have a partner, there is an even greater need to be financially prepared and to talk about money matters. In most relationships, there is a saver and a spender, so it is vitally important to be on the same page when it comes to finances.

These are just a few of the topics we dove into during our interview, so I hope that you will enjoy watching it as much as we did filming it.
